Tadz Kostrubala came over early one morning and I rode around in the most beautiful New Mexico morning light. It was cool and fresh, no summer bugs, and Izzy felt great underneath me. Riding in the hackamore is something I do regularly to give horses a break from carry the bit always with their tongues. I have yet to meet a horse that does not go easily in a well fitted hackamore. My preference is California style where the bosal fits with room on the cheeks of the horse. This gives a nice fresh signal each time I touch the rein.
